A FaLL FiNiSH!

I just finished this punch needle penny rug. I know, it's early for fall, but it's nice to dream about cooler weather. It's been so hot here in Chicago this week. Now that the extreme heat is gone, the thunderstorms arrived. We didn't get flooding here, but other areas of Chicago did. I'm hoping all the rain will get my lawn looking green again. The areas of the lawn that never got shade had turned a lovely shade of brown ~ yuck.

Back to the punch needle piece. The graphic is from Primitive Betty's. I punched it using 3 strands (was waiting for my new punch needle to arrive) of floss. I added some wool tongues and backed it with black wool. I did edge the piece with some black wool yarn so that all the weavers cloth is hidden. I just listed this on Ebay.

This week we found out our old van will need some serious motor work. Since it already has 150K miles, it's not worth it. So, we'll be looking into getting rid of it sometime in the next few weeks. I think our mechanic will be happy to see that van go away! I don't think we'll miss the oil drips all over the driveway.... =)

laura, I too have been working on fall items. It's never to soon, in my humble opinion to work on fall items! I have ordered a few items online recently and didn't put them away until my fall decorating, I'm enjoying them now! Beautiful punch needle work. ~Ann

It's crazy, but I am ready for Fall too! I love summer, but there is something about the smells and colors of autumn that I never, ever tire of...

Can't wait to see you...I want to see all of your house projects, too!
